The K-Edge chain catcher was developed for a single goal: to help my former TEAm Lipton teammate, Kristin Armstrong, win the Gold Medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. The original K-Edge protype that Armstrong used when she rode to Olympic victory inspired a new production K-Edge that debuted at Paris-Roubaix in 2009. The product is practical and provides both functional and mental advantages. I use my K-Edge to keep my chain in place during key moments in road and ‘cross races which helps improve my shifting performance and protects my frames from damage caused by a dropped chain.

I first used Mad Alchemy when I raced the Cyclocross World Cups in Europe in early 2010. I found the product to be far superior to other embrocation I had been using, superior enough that I contacted Mad Alchemy when I returned from ‘Cross Worlds. The initial contact snowballed into a conversation on sponsorship…et voilà! I’m stoked to represent a company that is devoted to both my skincare and the environment.
Mad Alchemy recently launched their pro signature line of embrocation. My non-warming concoction smells of white tea, ginger and mint. A portion of the proceeds from each jar sold benefits the Animal Help House.
